| What Shanghai is for China, Mumbai is for India: the epitome of the economic upswing of a country with over 1 billion inhabitants. The port on the Arabian Sea is the fifth largest metropolitan region in the world with more than 18 million people - and the figure is rising. 10% of India's industrial jobs are in Mumbai. 40% of Indian foreign trade is handled in Mumbai, recording 33% of the country's total income tax and 60% of the total customs revenue. However, the metropolis is not only an economic, financial and trading centre, it is also the home of "Bollywood" (derived from Bombay, the former name of the city), the world's largest film industry.
The ESSEN WELDING INDIA is being held in the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai from 10 to 12 February 2010.
